Anurup is the co-founder and CEO of Labsimply. Prior to the founding of Labsimply, Anurup worked as a research scientist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he completed his M.S and Ph.D in Bioengineering. Anurup has deep expertise in developing and clinically validating molecular point-of-care diagnostic platforms for infectious diseases. In the last 7 years, Anurup has developed over 8 independent biotechnology platforms ranging from smartphone enabled Zika and SARS-CoV-2 detection to ultrasensitive bacterial detection from blood for Sepsis that culminated in over 9 filed patents and over 20 publications in journals including Nature communications, Science Advances and PNAS among others. He also serves as NSF SBIR phase 1 & 2 reviewer for diagnostic applications.
Rashid is an innovation leader in the development of new technologies in the biotechnology field. He has a proven track record of successfully transitioning early stage technology to commercial products at both Daktari and BioVitesse. His research interests include BioMEMS, lab on a chip, interfacing of biology and engineering from the molecular to tissue scale, and applications of semiconductor fabrication to biomedical engineering. He is currently the Dean of The Grainger College of Engineering and was previously Executive Associate Dean of the Carle-Illinois College of Medicine and Head of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois. He has authored or co-authored over 220 journal papers, over 200 conference papers, and has been granted 50 patents.
Jacob joined Labsimply as a biomedical engineer in May 2021. Jacob works on assay development and translation to point of care platforms. Prior to joining Labsimply, he received his B.S in Nanoengineering from SUNY Albany with a focus on nano-scale sensors, and went on to complete his Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on diagnostic platform development from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2021. During his Ph.D, he co-authored over 10 high impact publications in low cost devices, microfluidics, protein and nucleic acid based diagnostic assay development, and smartphone enabled point of care platforms.
Ariana joined Labsimply as a Biomedical Engineer in May 2021. Ariana has specific expertise on developing diagnostic tests from minimally processed samples, such as blood, NP/oral swabs, saliva, food and environmental matrices. Ariana has a B.S in biomedical engineering from Wayne state university, and a Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a focus on translational point of care diagnostic devices. She has expertise integrating low cost optical and electrical sensors with rapid POC sample processing techniques to generate rapid time-to-result high accuracy diagnostic assays.
Ashish is a senior software engineer with full-stack development expertise in enterprise software. Ashish brings 5+ years of experience as a senior software developer from his time at Dassault Systemes, where he worked on development of CAD software such as CATIA and SOLIDWORKS. He has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian institute of Technology, and an M.S in computer science from Missouri University. In his academic research, he has published multiple papers in integrating cloud-computing and machine learning for biotech applications.
